SBFI Group is pleased to announce that we have joined the United Nations Global Compact initiative – a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices.
With this announcement, we join furniture makers globally committed to taking responsible business action. The UN Global Compact is a call to companies to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles, in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, boasting more than 15,000 companies and 3,800 non-business signatories.
“With this communication, we express our commitment to making the UN Global Compact and its principles part of the strategy, culture and day-to-day operations of our company, and to engaging in collaborative projects which advance the broader development goals of the United Nations, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals,” said Alan Hynd, Managing Director for EMEA.
This announcement comes in tandem with our recent Gold Sustainability Rating from EcoVadis – a testament to the management and commitment our teams have already put into promoting transparency throughout the value chain. EcoVadis is an independent certification of sustainable management systems, respective to the UN Global Compact initiative.
Our next formal communication on participant progress is due by July 2025. Further specifics on our broader sustainability endeavour will be announced later in 2024. Follow us on our journey to a more sustainable company by 2026.
